NYU Dorm Dumpster Dive

May 12th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

A year ago, I had just moved to Brooklyn. I needed household goods, you know – the ones that are annoying to pay for because they’re all made of plastic.

So I went to a Freegan event – freshman move out day at the NYU dorms. I told the dumpster goddess that I needed a couple things (asking often works) and lo and behold, I got it. I came back with a power cord, two laundry baskets, towels, toiletries, a trashcan, lamp, two lint rollers, and like twenty pairs of new socks. Oh, and drugs, not like I even take them, but vicodin and shit like that.

Everything was in great/new-ish condition. The things kids throw out these days…

Tomorrow’s the day. Be there.
